Italian car magazine draws would the upcoming 2018 E-Class coupe could look like based on previous prototype and spy photos
As Mercedes Benz is putting the finishing touches on the next generation Mercedes-AMG E63, the people over at OmniAuto have come up with their own rendering of what the 2018 E-Class Coupe could very well look like.
The E-Class rendering follows in the footsteps of the C-Class coupe and adopts a stylish front fascia with a single bar grille, sweptback headlights, and large air intakes. The styling continues further back as we see a very sloped windscreen and muscular side skirts. Rounding out the highlights are the flowing roofline and dynamic greenhouse.
While the prototype front fascia features the single bar grille, it remains to be seen with this detail will be carried over to the final production version. The E-Class coupes up this point have always shared the same full-grille front end with the sedan and estate.
Previous spy photos have shown the cabin to be influenced by the E-Class sedan. However, expect some minor changes in the form of new air vents and a revised center stack.
For the global market, engine options will carry over from the sedan so expect a wide range of choices to be offered including a turbocharged 2.0-liter -our cylinder engine with 241 horsepower. A 3.0-liter biturbo V6 producing 396 horsepower and 384 pound-feet of torque should be an option as well as the high performance E63 variant putting out 571 horsepower and 604 horsepower in full āSā guise.
Mercedes has been tight-lipped about when the new model will be unveiled but reports are suggesting it could at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show.
