Mazzanti Evantra Millicavalli, the most powerful Italian hypercar produced
To create a car in Italy that stands out amongst supercars and hypercars is no small feat. Mazzanti did just that today at the 2016 Turin Auto Show, unveiling the Mazzanti Evantra Millecavalli. Meaning ‘1,000 horses’ in Italian, the Evantra Millecavalli is a 1,000 horsepower Italian hypercar, beating the 950 horsepower Ferrari LaFerrari.
Representing Mazzanti’s first foray into the realm of the hypercar manufacturer, the company announced a limited edition run of just 25 units of the vehicle.
Running an engine of its own design and manufacture, the Evantra Millecavalli is the most powerful road-legal car to emerge from Italy. At it’s the heart is a 7.2-liter twin turbo V8 engine that was built entirely in-house, delivering ‘millecavalli’ or 1,000 horsepower and 885 pound-feet of torque. This is sufficient to propel the car from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just 2.7 seconds, accelerating to a top speed of 250 miles per hour.
The Evantra has a monocoque chassis made of steel and molybedenum chrome and through extensive use of carbon fiber throughout the vehicle, reduces the weight to 1,300 kg or just under 2,900 pounds. The 1,000 horsepower engine combined with a lightweight vehicle makes for some amazing performance.
