Tuner Novitec Rosso modifies the Novitec Rosso Ferrari 488 GTB to get 97 more horsepower more from the prancing horse
Ferrari’s twin turbo 488 GTB, while smaller than the 458 GTS it replaces, puts out some serious horsepower. The biturbo 3.9-liter V8 puts out a massive 670 horsepower and 561 pound-feet of torque. Ferrari tuner, Novitec Rosso upped the ante so to speak by squeezing out an additional 97 horsepower and 97 pound-feet of torque, producing 772 horsepower and 658 pound-feet of torque.
With the increase in power, comes the increase in performance. Novitec Rosso’s handiwork will cause the 488 GTB to sprint from 0 to 62 miles per hour in just 2.8 seconds, an improvement of 0.2 seconds over the stock 488 GTB. Top speed is also increased from 205 miles per hour in stock form to 212 miles per hour.
Novitec Rosso’s magic consists of updating the electronics and remapping the injection and ignition systems in addition to making some changes to the electronic boost control. A new performance exhaust system not only updates to the car’s soundtrack but improves the performance as well. The company claims that in the process, they have managed to improve the car’s throttle response, providing a more intense in-gear acceleration, regardless of which is selected.
Novitec Rosso’s handiwork extends to the exterior of the vehicle as well where a new aerodynamic body kit has been created with carbon fiber bits and pieces to keep the weight to a minimum. Additional exterior changes include new rear light lenses that have been given a new darker tint.
Changes extend to the suspension system in the form of a 40 mm drop thanks to a custom hydraulic suspension that retains the standard active damper control.
The final changes are in the form of 21-nich forged wheels wrapped in high performance Pirelli rubber measuring 255/30 ZR 21 up front and 325/25 ZR 21 in the back. If 21-inches is too small a wheel for you, Novitec Rosso can provide you with 22-inch wheels with corresponding tires, all of course for an additional price.
