While the Ferrari F40 was rumored to have only been finished in red, it looks just as striking in blue
Red seems to be the most popular color for Ferrari going back to the birth of the manufacturer. Some of the most famous and iconic cars to come from Ferrari were in red. However, this does not mean that they would not look good in other colors. On the contrary.
One of the most desired Ferraris to leave Maranello was the F40. A little over 1,300 units were produced over the course of 5 years. The official word is that they were all finished in red. However, over the years, F40s have emerged in yellow and black as well. Another F40 has emerged with an even more exclusive sky blue shade with Tricolore stripe and a Grigio border.
If you are wondering if this was a factory job, the answer is yes and no. This car did not leave the factory the first time around painted this shade of blue. However, it was resprayed at the Ferrari body shop in Maranello.
Offered for sale through an ad on Ebay, the classic F40 is Classiche Certified and comes with its own extensive history file. The car was delivered new in 1992 and is up to date. The odometer reads less than 16,500 km or 10,250 miles, which is more that your typical F40. However, the vehicle is said to be in “fantastic condition”.
Even though the car is almost 25 years old, it has supercar performance even by today’s standards. The twin-turbo V8 produces 471 horsepower, which is sufficient to propel the car from 0 to 62 miles per hour in 4.1 seconds, accelerating all the way up to a top speed of 201 miles per hour. The car is also significant in that it was the last Ferrari approved for production by Enzo Ferrari himself.
The vehicle is currently offered at 875,000 euros or very close to $1,000,000.
