Alternative fuel concept Audi H-Tron Quattro on display in Germany
With the advent of the electric vehicle, automakers are experimenting with alternative fuels that go beyond pure electricity. Toyota has released a hydrogen fuel cell production vehicle called the Toyota Mirai in limited numbers. Honda also had one that was sold or leased in very limited numbers for testing purposes. Audi has one too called the Audi H-Tron Quattro.
Another manufacturer looking at the alternative technology is Audi with their H-Tron Quattro study. It has a range of about 372 miles and refueling takes just four minutes. The vehicle has a 0 to 62 mile per hour time of just seven seconds accelerating to a top speed of 124 miles per hour.
Unique features that the H-Tron Quattro has is an autopilot feature up to speeds of 37 miles per hour, a new laser and OLED lighting technology, and an adaptive air suspension which can lower the vehicle by 1.2 inches to maximize aerodynamic efficiency. Additional features include a touch operated climate control system and independent rear seats, in addition to many more additional features.
The exterior of the vehicle is almost identical to one of the e-tron Quattro concept vehicle. However, there are minor differences in the form of different wheels and a restyled front spoiler and hood.
If you want to see the car and are in Germany, swing by Audi Forum in Neckarsulm for a look at the car. The vehicle will be on display for a limited time only. Even if you can’t stop in for a look, you can still admire the car from afar. Auto Forum is a large Audi dealership close to the factory.
