Bugatti Vision shown at Concourso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este
Young kids nowadays are learning about cars through their video games. A popular model on the Gran Turismo 6 Playstation 3 video game is the Bugatti Gran Turismo.
To celebrate the occasion, Bugatti made the car featured in the video game. Called the Bugatti vision Gran Turismo, it was shown at this year’s Concourso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, complete with its 16-cylinder symphony of fury.
Created to commemorate the video game, the car was filmed on the shores of Lake Como this past weekend, revving its engine loudly as it was being loaded into the truck. Judging by the crowd in the video, it looks as though it was a real crowd pleaser.
The Gran Turismo, while serving as the model for the car in the game is also the basis for the Chiron, the replacement for the supersonic Veyron.
While we don’t have the performance specifications for the Gran Turismo pictured here, it is known that the Chiron, which was modeled after the GT is capable of accelerating from 0 to 62 miles per hour in just 2.5 seconds. Based on a modified version of the 8.0-liter quad-turbo W16 engine from the Veyron, it can put out 1,500 horse power and 1,180 pound-feet of torque. With a curb weight of just 4,400 pounds, the Chiron has a top speed of 260 miles per hour.
With a price tag of $2.6 million, all 500 units slated for production have been sold.
