Tuner Squeezes 900 Horsepower from Ferrari 488 GTB

VOS GmbH Ferrari 488 GTB is what the factory should have done

Last year, Ferrari released its first turbocharged production vehicle since the legendary Ferrari F40, the Ferrari 488 GTB.

Powered by a 3.9-liter biturbo V8 engine producing 670 horsepower and 560 pound-feet of torque, the turbocharged Ferrari is significantly more powerful than the 458 GTS that it replaces.

Not wasting any time, German tuner VOS GmbH quickly set out to optimize the performance of the boosted Ferrari. The focused was primarily on the engine but VOS GmbH also applied their magic to the body as well.

VOS, which is short for ‘vision of speed’ offer three performance packages for the 488. The first package increases output to 750 horsepower and 597 pound feet of torque. The second package squeezes out 830 horsepower and 634 feet pound feet of torque with the most extreme package putting out 900 horsepower and 671 pound feet of torque.

The extra power is sourced from optimized engine management, work on the air induction system, and a choice of exhaust systems, a custom titanium option or an Akropovic system.

VOS GmbH did not provide any performance details but you can be sure that it is significantly better than the 0 to 62 time of three seconds posted by the production GTB.

Enhancements by VOS is not limited to just performance gains. Also included in the package is a body kit that does a fabulous job of enhancing the Ferrari’s existing lines. The only thing that really stands out on the kit is the rear wing. Everything else is very subtle and could pass as something directly from the factory.

The car shown also received a set of custom 21-inch LOMA wheels with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. The stance of the Ferrari is enhanced with a set of H&R sport springs, which gives the car a lean and mean stance.

VOS GmbH does a great job squeezing even more performance from the 488 GTB while providing a body kit that looks like it came from the factory. This is a winner in my book.
