Tuner Squeezes Up To 2,200 hp From 2017 Audi R8 V10

Underground Racing unveils performance package for second-generation Underground Racing 2017 Audi R8 V10

Underground Racing, famous for their insane Lamborghini Gallardo and Huracan turbo packages announced a new tuning program for the second generation 2017 Audi R8 V10. Their program for the first generation Audi R8 V10 resulted in a vehicle that could beat the Lamborghini Huracan to 60 miles per hour.  We shall see what they can do with the 2nd generation 2017 Audi R8 V10.

Underground Racing’s program for the 2nd-generation 2017 Audi R8 V10 gets a six stage upgrade program that is split between street and race applications. Road friendly versions range between 800 and 1,250 horsepower with the engine left stock up to 1,000 horsepower.

Race applications

As would be expected, Underground Racing’s race applications are insane putting out 1,500+ horsepower. Their infamous X package puts out north of 2,200 wheel horsepower. To control all of this power, Underground Racing will soon be offered with a dual-clutch transmission. Racing applications are currently using a sequential setup for now.

“Audi has outdone themselves with the new model and we just made it a lot better. Preliminary testing has been a great success. Driving an Underground Racing TT R8+ is something that should only be experienced, not explained. Pulling away on launch control with the 7-speed LDF dual-clutch transmission and the help of some boost which is controlled via our proprietary JRR MoTeC M1 electrics and firmware with the additional horsepower is just that, an experience,” an Underground Racing specialist explains

Underground Racing currently holds the quarter-mile world record for a twin-turbo Lamborghini Gallardo.  The fact that they are said to be experimenting with an even powerful version of the V10 Lamborghini, bodes well for their R8 program. I am sure that the R8 V10 will be an absolute blast.
