Toyota Land Cruiser 6×6, Amazing Utility and Invincibility

When Mercedes-AMG released the G63 6X6 in early 2013,the sheer audacity of such a vehicle led it to be covered far and wide on the Internet. When it was released Mercedes planned to produce fewer than 100 examples at a cost of over $600,000. By the time production stopped in 2015, more than 100 such examples of the monster were produced.

If you live outside of the United States and you want a 6×6 vehicle, you are in luck as NSV Auto in Dubai offers a Toyota Series 76 Land Cruiser 6×6.

The Series 76 Land Cruiser is a vehicle we are not able to obtain here in the United States. However, it is sold in just about every market in the World with the exception of three other countries, Mexico, Brazil and Korea. Its reputation as a reliable and capable off-road vehicle is legendary with it being the first choice of many militaries and humanitarian agencies, such as the United Nations.

The Mercedes-AMG G63 6X6 was offered with a twin-turbo 5.5 liter V8 engine producing 536 horsepower and 561 lb-ft of torque. Output is sufficient to power the massive almost 5 ton beast from 0 to 60 in just 7.8 seconds all the way to a top speed of over 100 vehicles. Power is transmitted through a seven speed gearbox to three portal axles.

Meanwhile, the Series 76 6×6 is powered by a 4.0 liter supercharged V6 coupled with a five speed manual transmission. NSV auto claims it makes 398 horsepower and 364 lb-ft of torque. There is also a 4.5 liter diesel option available with an automatic transmission.

In terms of operating costs, reliability, and dependability, my money is on the Land Cruiser 6×6. While the G63 6X6 offers more luxury, size, power, and glamour, the Land Cruiser 6×6 beats the Mercedes in the area of utility with its 3.3 ton carrying capacity. Additionally, one can probably buy three to five Land Cruiser 6×6’s for the price of the G63 6×6.

Most likely, the Toyota Series 76 6×6 will be a very rare site in the United States, much more so than the G63 6×6.
