2016 Ford F-150, 600 horsepower and a 3 year/36,000 warranty
Up to now, if you wanted a high performance full size Ford F-150, you had only one choice, and a great one at that, the Ford Raptor. Even then, it won’t be available till late 2016. However, if you can’t wait till then or need more horsepower than the 450 that the truck leaves the factory with, there is an alternative.
For $22,600 plus the truck, the fine folks at Roush can convert your run of the mill F-150 into a Roush F-150 SC. Starting with the 5.0 liter Ti-VCT V8 putting out 385 horsepower and 387 pound feet of torque, Roush ends up with a beast of an engine putting out 600 horsepower and 557 pound-feet of torque.
The increase of 215 horsepower and 170 pound-feet of torque is accomplished with the addition of a side-exhaust system and a Roush 2300 TVS supercharger.
Modifications are not just limited to the engine as Roush worked with Fox Racing Shox, the company that created the suspension system for the Ford Raptor to create a new system that is optimized for the increase in engine output. Called the 2.0 Performance Series Suspension System, components include new rear shocks and high performance coil-overs. Also included are 20-inch wheels wrapped in 305/55 section Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ tires.
Moving to the outside of the vehicle, the Roush F-150 SC receives widened flares with integrated clearance lights, in addition to clearance lights integrated within the front grille. Appearance enhancements are topped off with a new bumper cover with special decals for the windshield, hood, tailgate and rockers.
The 2016 Roush F-150 SC is available for order at select for Ford dealerships and best of all, the high performance truck comes with a 3 year/36,000 mile limited warranty.
The Roush F-150 SC conversion is available for both the SuperCab and SuperCrew.
