G-Power engineers work on BMW M4 GTS to increase output from 500 hp to 615 hp and 198 miles per hour for the G-Power BMW M4 GTS
The most impressive BMW M4 to come out of BMW is the M4 GTS. The 3.0-liter twin turbocharged water injected inline six-cylinder engine puts out 500 horsepower and 442 feet-pounds of torque.
With over 30 years of BMW modification experience behind them, the team at G-Power thought that they can improve BMW’s finest and they did. When the engineering wizards at G-Power had finished working their magic on the M4 GTS, horsepower is increased to 615 horsepower and 560 pound feet of torque. This is sufficient to launch the vehicle from zero to 62 miles per hour in just 3.6 seconds accelerating all the way through to 198 miles per hour.
To increase the output of the M4 GTS, G Power added two larger turbochargers that had an aerodynamically optimized turbine and compressors. This makes the turbochargers more efficient by reducing the inertia and exhaust gas temperature, increasing responsiveness and enabling higher boost pressures.
A new CNC machined exhaust system is fitted to the M4 GTS with increased inflows and outflows. The result is a slight increase in horsepower.
The final trick is an ECU upgrade using the G-Power Bi-Tronik 2 V2-map optimization. Without the turbo modifications, a new exhaust and remapped ECU increases output to 575 horsepower and 545 pound-feet of torque.
Since the M4 GTS leaves the factory with a suitable brakes and coilover suspension, G-Power leaves the two systems as is. However, the wheels are upgraded to 21-inch Hurricane RR wheels to reduce unsprung weight.
The BMW M4 GTS is already an amazing car to begin with. The team at G-Power work their magic to make the G-Power BMW M4 GTS an even more spectacular performer.
