Ford Mustang Top Selling Sports Car In Germany In March

In the land of Porsche, BMW, and Mercedes sports cars, an American legend is shaking things up a bit. According to European sales data, the 2016 Ford Mustang was the best selling sports car in Germany for the month of March beating many more, domestic sports cars that are held in much higher esteem than the Mustang.

780 Ford Mustangs were sold in Germany in the month for the month of March. By comparison, Ford sold 12,563 across the United States in the same time period. However, the US is a much larger market than Germany.

The sales number for Germany is still significant because it was enough to outsell the Audi TT, BMW Z4, Jaguar F-Type, Mercedes Benz SLK, AMG GT, Porsche Boxster/Cayman and Porsche 911.

While the Mustang was the German sales leader for the Month of March, the record for the best-selling sports car this year goes to the Audi TT with 2,299 units through March. The Ford Mustang is in second place with 1,823 units, followed by the Porsche 911 with 1,811 vehicles sold. We will wait and see if the Mustang can hold on for the remainder of the year.
