First Pics of the Bugatti Chiron on the Nurburgring

We see the first video of the awesome capabilities of the Bugatti Chiron on the Nurburgring

Just a few months ago, we got our first look at the replacement for the Bugatti Veyron, the Bugatti Chiron. Upon seeing the car for the first time, I got the impression that the vehicle is at least at a whole new level compared to the outgoing model.

Yesterday, the first video showing the performance of the Chiron was released. It confirmed for me that the performance of the Chiron is indeed, on a whole other level.

Alex Kersten, a writer for Car Throttle was given a ride in the 1,479 horsepower Chiron. Driven by the company’s president, Wolfgang Durheimer on the Nurburgring, we see firsthand the incredible performance that this machine is capable of.

Pretty much in a class by itself, the Chiron posts unbelievable numbers that are second to none. It has a heavily revised quad turbo 8.0-liter W16 engine producing a mind-numbing 1,479 horsepower and 1,179 pound feet of torque. This is capable of launching the Chiron from 0 to 62 miles per hour in less than 2.5 seconds, accelerating through all the way to 261 miles per hour.

In the video, Mr. Durheimer confirms that there are indeed plans to pilot the Chiron to a world record breaking attempt for the fastest car ever, in 2018. With a speedometer topping out at 310 miles per hour, where it will top out is anybody’s guess but when it does, I am sure many of us will be surprised.
