With the soul of an endurance racer, the Endurance Racing Edition Porsche 911 commemorates years of motorsports success
Porsche has been a leader in motorsports, particularly in endurance racing for decades. The car that has led the effort over the years has been the Porsche 911.
To commemorate Porsche’s legendary performance in endurance racing, the technicians and artisans at Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur have created the Endurance Racing Edition. While the vehicle has the appearance of a 911, it has the soul of an endurance racer as it was meant to celebrate the Manufacturers countless motorsport wins.
The Endurance Racing Edition of the Porsche 911 will make an appearance at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The special edition Porsche is easily identifiable from afar because of its livery inspired by Porsche endurance racers.
The Porsche 911 Endurance Racing Edition is available in White, Guards Red, or Black. On the inside of the vehicle, there is extensive use of carbon fiber trim, a sporty steering wheel marked at 12 o’clock, and red seatbelts. The center console of the vehicle has ‘Porsche Intelligent Performance’ embroidered which doesn’t seem to make much sense.
The mechanicals of the Endurance Racing Edition are largely those of the Porsche 911 Carrera S. The engine is a 3.0-liter turbocharged flat six producing 414 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. Because of the Sport Chrono package and a PDK dual-clutch automatic transmission, 0 to 60 mile per hour runs are in 3.7 seconds. This is astounding performance for a car in the price range.
Available options with the Endurance Racing edition of the Porsche 911 include an electric sunroof, Porsche Dynamic Control with rear wheel steering and a sports exhaust system.
Like all Porsche 911s, I am sure that the Endurance Racing Edition will one day be sought after by collectors.
