Only 60 units of the BMW M4 Competition Sport are being produced for the Spanish market
BMW has unveiled a new limited edition version of the M4. Built exclusively for the Spanish market, the BMW M4 Competition Sport or CS will be positioned between the regular M4 Coupe and the M4 GTS.
Whereas BMW is building 700 of the GTS worldwide, only 60 units are being built for Spanish consumption.
The M4 Competition Sports a 3.0-liter twin turbocharged straight-six will not be as extensively modified as the GTS gaining only 25 horsepower for a maximum output of 450 horsepower. A 7-speed dual clutch transmission drives power to the rear wheels.
By comparison, the GTS gains 68 horsepower , increasing output to 493 horsepower. Additionally, the GTS loses 176 pounds over the regular GTS, in part because of the removal of the rear seat.
As of this writing, it is not known how much weight the CS loses over the M4 but it will receive the Carbon Ceramic brakes of the GTS that are said to reduce 30 pounds from the vehicle. The CS will retain the back seat.
The CS shares the 20-inch light alloy wheels with the GTS but in a silver finish without accents. Additional features that differ from the GTS include an M Performance fixed rear wing, side-sill trim, a rear diffuser, mirror caps and a carbon-fiber front lip spoiler.
The CS will be available in three different color combinations including Individual San Marino Blue body and Individual blue and black interior, jerez black finish with a black and brown cabin and Brilliant White paint with Individual Cohiba and black leather cabin. Carbon fiber interior treatments are included regardless of color combination.
The M4 CS will open for order soon in Spain with a starting price of $151,100.
