Alfa Romeo 4C Launch Edition, High Performance Fun

Alfa Romeo creating 1,000 units of high performance 4c Launch edition

The Alfa Romeo 4C is a rear-engined, rear wheel drive Italian sports car having a 38% weight distribution to the front and 62% to the rear.  As a result, handling would be expected to be impressive.  This is indeed the case as Italian magazine Quattroruote lapped an Alfa Romeo 4C around the Nurburgring in 8:04.

With that said, it would be an exceptional vehicle to base a high performance or track version from.

The Alfa Romeo 4C Launch Edition is distinguished from the stock 4C by additional carbon fiber trim, white or red paint, distinctive badging, bi-LED headlights, a rear aluminum diffuser with a dark finish and large burnished alloy wheels.

Additional features unique to the Launch edition includes colored brake calipers, a racing exhaust system, an aftermarket air cleaner, a specifically calibrated suspension system, and additional front air intakes.  Minor changes extend to the inside of the 4C as well.

The Launch Edition 4C is powered by a 237bhp turbocharged four-cylinder Alfa Romeo 1750 TBi engine coupled with Alfa’s TCT dual-clutch transmission.  This is good for a 0 to 62 mile per hour accelleration of 4.5 seconds powering through all the way to more than 155 miles per hour.

Only 1,000 units of the Launch Edition of the Alfa Romeo 4C will be available globally with 400 allocated for Europe, Africa and the Middle East.  500 units are allocated for North America with the remaining 100 designated for the rest of the World
