Upcoming 2017 Mercedes-AMG E63 caught lapping the Nurburgring and it sounds awesome – (VIDEO)

The upcoming 2017 Mercedes-AMG E63 was captured by cvidzijden taking some fast laps at the Nurburgring. While we already know about the upcoming Mercedes-AMG E43, we are starting to receive some information about the upcoming Mercedes-AMG E63. Earlier this year, documents were leaked from Russia that showed the upcoming E63 was much more powerful than we had originally thought.

2017 Mercedes-AMG E63 Performance Statistics

The upcoming Mercedes-AMG E63 is powered by the latest version of AMG’s 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8. The new E63 will deliver 563 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque in stock form. In ‘S’ trim, the E63 delivers 604 horsepower and 627 pound-feet of torque. Compare this to 518 horsepower and 516 pound-feet for the ‘regular’ E63 and 577 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque for the ‘S’ E63 models with the 5.5-liter V8.

The engine of the E63 is enough to rocket the vehicle from 0 to 62 miles per hour in 3.7 seconds and the ‘S’ 4MATIC should be able to cover the same distance in 3.5 seconds. This represents and improvement of 0.7 seconds and 0.6 seconds, respectively over the current generation E63.

Like the outgoing model, the upcoming E63 has top speed electronically limited to 155 miles per hour. Rumor has it that the vehicle will have a 9-speed automatic transmission as well.

The E63 is expected to be available in only all-wheel-drive. AMG went with this option because when Mercedes offered the E63 as rear-wheel or all-wheel-drive variant, 90% of buyers opted for all-wheel-drive. The Mercedes-AMG E63 is expected to be offered as an estate or station wagon, coupe, convertible and as always, as a sedan.
