Upcoming 2017 Audi R8 V10 Spyder featured at local German Audi dealership.
Audi is slated to update its top-of-the-range Audi R8 later this year. The company has shown an Audi R8 V10 convertible at the most recent New York International Auto Show.
If you happen to be in Germany and really want to see the car up close and personal before it hits your local dealership, you are luck. A bright yellow Audi R8 V10 convertible is on display at the Audi Forum in Neckarsulm, Germany until May 14. Audi Forum is a dealership close to the Audi factory.
An exact copy or most likely, the same vehicle here was the same car shown at the New York International Auto Show earlier this year and has been shown in many spy shots recently. Most likely, a preproduction prototype, the same or exact car is featured in the video below.
The V10 powering the Audi R8 puts out 532 horsepower and 398 pound-feet of torque. This is sufficient to power the drop top R8 from 0 to 62 miles per hour in 3.6 seconds accelerating all the way to 197 miles per hour.
Additional highlights include the extensive use of carbon fiber throughout the vehicle including the rear view mirrors and throughout the interior of the vehicle. Even the 12.3” virtual cockpit display is wrapped in carbon fiber.
The Audi R8 V10 Spyder will cost the equivalent of 179,000 euros or a bit over $203,000 at current exchange rates in Germany. We will keep you posted when we receive pricing for the United States.
