2016 Ford F-150 Special Service Vehicle On Patrol

Ford unveils Ford F-150 for law enforcement agencies

Ford has been the leading sales to law enforcement agencies across the Country with its Ford Policy Interceptor Utility based on the Ford Explorer. Most recently, they released a stealth light bar as an option for the Ford Police Interceptor Utility. As a follow, Ford announced the availability of the F-150 Special Service Vehicle for law enforcement agencies.

Ford’s top selling truck is offered to government and fleet customers, including law enforcement and emergency first responders. Agencies can pick from a SuperCrew or SuperCab configurations, both in XL trim and available in both 2WD or 4WD, with a 5.0 liter V8 engine or 3.5 liter EcoBoost engine.

Differences between a stock F-150 and a Special Service F-150 include an easy-to-clean vinyl flooring in place of carpeting and the rear seat has been swapped with a vinyl bench. Additonally, the standard 40/20/40 has been swapped for 40/blank/40 seats, enabling for more storage and customization.

Topping the list of upgrade is a high-output 240-amp alternator that enables the vehicle to idle for a much longer period of time.

Ford’s F-150 for law enforcement agencies joins a family of vehicles that include Expedition Special Service Vehicle, Transit Prisoner Transport Vehicle, Special Service Police Sedan, Police Interceptor Utility and Police Interceptor Sedan.
